To address this issue, WWE will conduct a draft on October 11th and 14th, on Friday Night SmackDown and RAW respectively. The crossover of wrestlers from one brand to another will end once SmackDown makes its transition.

As proven by the 2019 Superstar Shakeup, no names are safe during the draft. Even a top tier WWE Superstar like Roman Reigns was moved to SmackDown during the 2019 Superstar Shakeup.

In this list, we will take a look at a few of the biggest names that could be drafted to a different brand during the 2019 WWE Draft.

#5. Brock Lesnar - To SmackDown

Even though Brock Lesnar made his most recent WWE TV appearance on SmackDown, Lesnar is still a RAW Superstar and has been ever since returning to WWE in 2012. ‘The Beast’ is challenging Kofi Kingston for the WWE championship only because of the current wild card rules.

However, the chances of Kofi Kingston successfully defending the title against ‘The Beast Incarnate’ are slim to none. Kingston has to pull out something special to put Lesnar down for the three count and hold onto his WWE Championship. Unless the match ends in a DQ or count-out finish, Lesnar is expected to become the new WWE Champion.

Once Lesnar becomes the top champion on SmackDown, he would be officially drafted to the Blue Brand.

#4. Becky Lynch - To SmackDown

After winning both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s championships in the main event of WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch was allowed to appear on both brands. Although Lynch did not have a brand specified to her, she became a permanent member of the RAW roster after losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank 2019.

FOX Network has already been heavily advertising Becky Lynch during their promotional campaign. Lynch even publicly mocked Bayley, the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion, for failing to make the cut.

This might mean that Lynch could lose her RAW Women’s title to Sasha Banks at Hell in a Cell and then move to SmackDown during the WWE Draft. The likes of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Bayley, and Kairi Sane can bolster the strength of SmackDown’s Women’s Division.

#3. Velveteen Dream - To RAW

From his mic skills to his in-ring psychology, everything about Velveteen Dream screams main roster potential. Just as Stephanie McMahon picked Finn Balor for the RAW roster during the 2016 WWE Draft, we could see the Red Brand make a shocking move by drafting a big NXT name to its main roster ranks.

Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa will probably stay in NXT a bit longer and The Undisputed Era holds all the NXT men’s titles. Therefore, Velveteen Dream, who lost his North American championship on the regular TV debut episode of NXT, is the perfect candidate to get called up to the main roster. Velveteen Dream already has plenty of potential opponents on RAW including Cesaro, Ricochet, AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre and Cedric Alexander, just to name a few.

#2. The Miz - To SmackDown

Chris Jericho’s affiliation with All Elite Wrestling has forced WWE to redact his name whenever possible. WWE likely wants wrestling fans to forget that Jericho holds the record for the most Intercontinental Title reigns in WWE history, with a massive total of nine. At Clash of Champions, The Miz, already an eight time Intercontinental Champion, competed for his record tying ninth Intercontinental Championship opportunity. Commentators failed to acknowledge Jericho altogether.

It is only a matter of time before WWE pushes The Miz to break the Intercontinental Championship record and the first step would be drafting the ‘A-Lister’ to SmackDown. The Miz, who has been a workhorse throughout his WWE career, might just break Jericho’s record at WrestleMania 36.

#1. Roman Reigns - To RAW

With Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch potentially heading to SmackDown, one might think that RAW is getting the short end of the stick. However, such thoughts would quickly dissipate, if Roman Reigns is drafted to RAW. Reigns has won over WWE audiences recently, as WWE has changed the way he’s been booked. He is no longer the centerpiece of the company and was left off the SummerSlam card altogether.

However, Reigns is still one of the top drawing Superstars in WWE and RAW could use him at the top of the card. A feud between ‘The Big Dog’ and The Fiend could be absolutely brilliant.

On SmackDown, Daniel Bryan will most likely turn babyface in the coming weeks and can replace Reigns as the top face of the Blue Brand. This move is necessary to instill balance to both brands and such a transition would force WWE to create a new star on SmackDown.
