The matches included on the card are Asuka & Naomi vs The IIconics, Cedric Alexander vs Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship, Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey & The Bella Twins vs The Riott Squad, Bobby Lashley & John Cena vs Kevin Owens & Elias, Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, The New Day vs The Bar for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship, The Shield vs The Dogs of War in a 6-Man Tag Team match, and Undertaker vs Triple H.

#5 Buddy Murphy defeats Cedric Alexander for the Cruiserweight Championship in his homeland

Cedric Alexander has been Cruiserweight Champion for 179 days. He has defeated the likes of Kalisto, Mustafa Ali, TJP, Hideo Itami, Drew Gulak, and even his opponent Buddy Murphy.

When Cedric Alexander faced Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship the first time, he was in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. That gave him an undeniable advantage.

Buddy Murphy will have that advantage when he competes in his homeland against Cedric Alexander tomorrow. Buddy Murphy will take advantage of this and could become champion even though it is reported that there will be no title changes.

#4 The IIconics win in their homeland as well

Asuka is set to team with Naomi against the IIconics in their homeland. Asuka & Naomi have been getting more and more momentum since becoming a team and due to typical 50/50 booking, it is highly possible that the IIconics get the victory.

Even though the IIconcis haven’t won many matches since joining SmackDown Live and WWE needs to rebuild Asuka’s lost momentum, they may try to protect Asuka by having one of the IIconics pin Naomi. This also makes sense because if there are going to be Women’s Tag Team Titles announced soon, then the IIconics will need momentum.

#3 Nikki Bella “accidentally” blasts Ronda Rousey with a forearm after the match

Ronda Rousey is set to team up with the Bella Twins at Super Showdown against the Riott Squad. This match will set up the main event of Evolution.

After Ronda Rousey inevitably gets her team the win, the Riott Squad will try and get the last laugh. Nikki Bella will then come running in and may accidentally hit Ronda Rousey with a big forearm to the face instead of hitting Ruby Riott.

After The Bellas then chase the Riott Squad out of the ring, they look concerned when seeing that Ronda Rousey has been knocked out on the floor in this scenario. Nikki Bella could then pick up Ronda Rousey’s title for her and help her to the back, foreshadowing a heel turn.

#2 Charlotte Flair gets herself disqualified against Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at the Super Showdown.

A double turn would be a great way for this feud to continue at Evolution. If Charlotte Flair were to hit Natural Selection only for Becky Lynch to kick out and then locked in the Figure Eight until Becky Lynch reached the bottom rope, that would frustrate Charlotte. Charlotte Flair can then get a chair and viciously hit Becky Lynch with it in the knee multiple times. Becky Lynch will then be the sympathetic figure that can defend her title against Charlotte Flair in a no disqualification match at Evolution.

#1 The Miz defeats Daniel Bryan due to interference from Shelton Benjamin

Daniel Bryan will face The Miz in a WWE Championship #1 Contenders Match at Super Showdown. Daniel Bryan faced Shelton Benjamin in a match on SmackDown Live. The Miz then interfered and cost Daniel Bryan the victory. It would make sense for Shelton Benjamin to want to pay the Miz back for getting him an opportunity on SmackDown Live and helping him take advantage of it.

If Shelton Benjamin helps The Miz win at Super Showdown, he will become involved in one of WWE’s hottest feuds. This will rejuvenate his career and a pairing between Shelton Benjamin & The Miz (with Shelton Benjamin as his enforcer) can be interesting.

The show also boasts four Championship matches as well as a number of personal feuds that are set to reach their climax on the other side of the world, which could be why the ticket prices for the event are so high and the WWE Universe is hotly anticipating the matches that are set to take place.

Since the event is so far away, there is room for a number of shocks and surprises as part of the show, much like back at The Greatest Royal Rumble when WWE was able to bring back a number of interesting names as part of the main event match.

Here are some of the boldest predictions for the show, that would definitely add to the shock factor of the event.

#5 Samoa Joe makes history

There are various reports surrounding Super Show-Down that state that no Championships are expected to change hands as part of the show. There are only four Championships on the line in Melbourne, but easily the biggest match amongst them is the rubber match between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

The two men have one win each in their deeply personal rivalry but Joe has still been unable to dethrone Styles, who has held the WWE Championship now for almost a year. The two men collide in a no count out, no disqualification match and it could see Joe become the first WWE Champion crowned on Australian soil.

Joe has reached a new level throughout his feud with AJ and even though he has also reached new lows by visiting AJ’s house and bringing his family into a professional matter, he’s also proved that he’s the kind of Champion that SmackDown Live needs and Saturday could be the perfect opportunity to give him his crown.

#4 Elias and Kevin Owens Implode

Elias really should have done his research before he decided to make friends with Kevin Owens, the former Universal Champion doesn’t have a great track record, since Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho found out the hard way that friendship doesn’t stand in the way of Kevin Owens getting exactly what he wants.

Owens and Elias take on John Cena and Bobby Lashley on Saturday morning and if Lashley and Super Cena are able to pick up the victory, then it’s easy to assume that Owens will put the blame on Elias and will then attack him after the match. Friendships just don’t work for Owens, he is a lone soldier and Elias could find that out the hard way as part of tomorrow’s show.

#3 Nikki Bella turns on Ronda Rousey

Super Show-Down might look like an overhyped house show on paper, but between the lines, there are a number of combustible elements and with Evolution fast approaching, every woman wants to stand up and be counted.

Nikki Bella has been rumored to be facing Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Evolution, but with three weeks to ago, the two women are still seen as close friends, which is why Nikki needs to turn on Rousey this weekend and either end Rousey’s unbeaten run or attack her after the match.

Egos will be running wild since Nikki was once the biggest star in the Women’s Division and if Rousey refuses to tag out or takes the victory from Nikki when she was ready for her finisher, then it would be enough for her to turn on Rousey and set up their match on October 28th.

#2 Kurt Angle returns to WWE

Kurt Angle has been missing from WWE TV for a number of weeks now and in that time Baron Corbin has been playing favorites and handing himself Universal Championship shots. It’s obvious that the former United States Champion is out of his depth as “acting General Manager” which is why Angle should at least make an appearance at Super Show-Down to show Corbin that he isn’t the General Manager just yet.

The duo is expected to face off at Survivor Series for control of Monday Night Raw, but if Angle made his return to the company in Australia, the build could begin and creative would then have enough time to put together a believable storyline between Angle and Corbin ahead of next month’s show.

#1 Roman Reigns turns on The Shield

If it’s been hinted then it probably won’t happen. That’s the rule that WWE like to live by and the fact that Dean Ambrose’s heel turn has been pushed over the past few weeks means that it’s not likely to be the Lunatic Fringe that turns on his brothers. When The Shield first split back in 2014 it was Dean Ambrose that was built as the main threat to the team for weeks before Seth Rollins shocked the world when he turned on his family to join The Authority.

The fact that WWE has already put it out there that Ambrose is the most likely one to turn heel, means that it’s more than likely going to be Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns. Rollins has already done it once and the weight of the company broke his knee, which is why Reigns would be the perfect candidate. The WWE Universe have wanted it for a long time and now that Ambrose has shown his true colors, it could be time for Reigns to show his.
