It’s not just typical car movies like the “Fast and Furious” franchise that feature sports cars, sedans, SUVs, and trucks in them. Films based on the Marvel Comic Universe make up the bulk of the most recent releases starring new autos but some movies from the action/adventure genre also sneak onto the list.

A new short film directed by Zack Snyder, best known for his “Justice League” feature films, and starring Golden Globe-award winning actress Kate Hudson will serve as the debut of the redesigned 2022 Infiniti QX60 on June 23 at 1 p.m. E.T.

Scroll down to see which other vehicles have made their debut in films in recent memory.

2018 Audi A8

Audi partnered with Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios to place the redesigned, fifth-generation A8 sedan in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. The film was the first Spider-Man motion picture featuring actor Tom Holland in the titular role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The film was a success grossing over $880 million worldwide.

In the film, the sedan makes it appearance with Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) behind the wheel as he chauffeurs Holland while utilizing new traffic jam assist and lane centering technology.

Two other Audis are featured in the movie. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is in an Audi R8 V10 Spyder and Holland as Parker drivers himself in an Audi TTS Roadster.

2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Michael Bay’s “6 Underground” stars Ryan Reynolds, Mélanie Laurent, Ben Hardy, Dave Franco, and the significantly refreshed 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The neon green car features in a pivotal chase scene while a number of Land Rover Range Rovers bear the brunt of the impact of a hail of bullets in another part of the movie. A Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, and MINI all play supporting roles in the high-action drama.

2021 Cadillac Escalade

On February 4, 2020, filmmaker and avid New York Knicks fan Spike Lee debuted “Anthem”, a short film that captured the 2021 Cadillac Escalade on film for the first time. The short was filmed using Lee’s signature Double-Dolly technique and showcases many of the fifth-generation full-size SUV’s signature features like the 38-inch curved OLED display panel.

Aston Martin DB10

The Aston Martin DB10 coupe was never destined for production but it did make a big impact when it debuted in “Spectre”, the 24th film in the James Bond franchise. Director Sam Mendes unveiled the model in 2014. He had worked closely with the Aston Martin team, including Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman to conceive the car.

Looking back, it’s easy to see how the DB10 served as a concept for the V8 Vantage, a model that debuted in 2017. Just 10 DB10s were built.

2022 Audi E-Tron GT

Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark character is the driver of an Audi E-Tron GT concept vehicle in “Avengers: Endgame”. The film, which premiered nearly three years before the car will reach dealership lots in the U.S., left auto enthusiasts puzzling about the E-Tron GT. As it’s driven into Avengers HQ it seemingly puts out a rip-roaring amount of engine noise. The E-Tron GT is an electric car, completely devoid of an engine that would generate that type of sound.

At the time the movie arrived in theaters, a spokesperson told Jalopnik that the filmmakers requested a sound for the scene to support the “drama” occurring in it. Acting upon that request, Audi created a digitally-generated sound for the car.
