Goal celebrations are part of the game from the early times of football and while some have become the signature celebration and a fan favourite, some have led to fines and red cards. Such is the vastness of a goal celebration.

Few teams keep things cool and stay focused but some celebrations are over the top. If some celebrations are a tribute to someone special, some mock their opposition. If some teams celebrate with players celebrating together with the goalscorer, some players go for a signature celebration.

Here is the selection of some crazy Goal celebrations of 2017/2018 season.

#5 Neymar: “Balance the boot”

If there are anything Brazilians do best, it’s celebrating. Following his mammoth move to Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint Germain this season, Neymar Jr has already proven his credentials with 19 goals and 21 assists.

The Brazilian, recently, celebrated by balancing the boot on his head in a game against Amiens in a Coupe de la Ligue quarterfinal which PSG won 2-0 eventually. Neymar flaunted his ‘puro fenomeno’ while celebrating his penalty.

Later Neymar explained his unusual celebration via an Instagram post saying it was a birthday gift for his friend Joao Celso Moraes.

This celebration was definitely a rare piece and many FIFA fans would love to see it in the next edition of game. Nike surely loved this celebration getting some extra promotions for their new boots.

#4 Roberto Firmino: “Gun Dance”

Another Brazilian in the list, Firmino is surely an artist when it comes to crazy celebrations. His teammates try to imitate him and fail miserably because Firmino has unique ways of celebrating his goals, which explains why he is the most booked player for celebrating in Europe’s top 5 leagues.

Firmino has many celebrations but this one is a bit special as it was also done by Ronaldinho earlier. Firmino has had many peculiar celebrations, but this one quite catches the eye. In fact, we don’t even have an exact name for the celebration. He lowers his shorts and shoots in the air while doing some difficult moves with his feet.

We like this celebration just because how easy it looks to pull off, yet it is challenging to do it effortlessly. This is definitely one of the most fun celebrations to watch out there. Even the opposition would love those moves.

#3 Messi: “T-shirt aloft”

Let me break this to you first, Messi isn’t the first to celebrate with t-shirt held high aloft in the air. Ronaldinho did the same celebration while he was playing for PSG back in 2002.

Nonetheless, Messi scored that day to snatch the win from Real Madrid in the dying minutes, making this celebration very special for all the Barca fans worldwide. Some pictures were taken at the right time making it look supernatural as it looks as if Messi is holding his t-shirt with one hand.

This celebration has been borrowed since then, by many players like Cristiano Ronaldo returning the favour after his goal against Barcelona later that year. Mauro Icardi and Nabil Fekir being the notable ones among many others. Even though Messi didn’t do it originally it will be remembered as Messi’s celebration because of the thrilling moments it gave to football fans.

This one is different to other celebrations on this list as it signifies respect towards the fans rather than the goal itself.

This celebration is pure class and forges a soothing effect even though there are chances of receiving a booking.

#2 Jesse Lingard: “Milly Rock”

Jesse Lingard is surely a genius when it comes to innovative celebrations. He was already seen doing the Schmoney dance and the Pied piper celebrations which had gathered immense social media attention. He again has come up with some new moves on the pitch and we absolutely love it.

This celebration is surely one of the absolute fun ones to perform and it makes sure to rub your opposition faces in the ground. United fans adore this celebration and it will be followed by more players but this one is difficult to pull off as smoothly as Lingard does it.

The dance moves are from a music video called Milly Rock by rapper 2 Milly and is popular on the internet.

#1 Bundesliga: “Fortnite”

If you haven’t heard already, the Fortnite celebrations are taking over the sporting world with players from NFL and Bundesliga starting to fall prey. Fortnite is a 100 player PvP game where players race to find weapons, kill opposition and save themselves till the last man standing.

The celebrations we are seeing are some of the actions players perform while playing the game. the popular one is the pickaxe celebration mimicking the Fortnite players using a pickaxe to build structures and is mostly used in the gameplay.

The Bundesliga teams like Bayer 04, RB Leipzig, Bayern and many others have already performed this viral celebration.

Some players have been caught doing the self-healing bandage manoeuver. This craze has just peaked and is soon to spread to other League’s. Watch out for your team to see if they perform this one.
