If the router has a built-in modem, simply connect the internet cable from your internet service provider to the “WAN” or “Internet” port on the back of the router. If you have a separate modem, connect the internet cable in your home to the “WAN” or “Internet” port on your modem. Then connect an ethernet cable to an available “LAN” port on the back of the modem. Then connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the “WAN” or “Internet” port on the back of the router.

If your computer does not have an available ethernet port, you can purchase a USB-to-ethernet adapter and use that to connect the ethernet cable to your computer using any available USB port.
